Below is the transcript of our interview with Advancells

Could you please tell us about Advancells to our readers, and what it is all about? 

Advancells Group is a multifaceted organization that focuses on cell culture research and stem cell therapeutics to encourage academic and industrial innovations in the healthcare domain. An offshoot of the same, Advancells strongly believes that stem cell therapy and regenerative medicine can change the global viewpoint of medical healthcare in the years to come. 

What is Stem Cell Therapy? For what purpose is it used? And who gets the benefits?

Stem cells are the native cells in our body that can differentiate and specialize into various cell lineages. This makes them a potential candidate for repairing damaged tissues and regeneration, besides providing immunomodulatory functions. This is the main purpose of stem cell therapy. Patients can opt for allogeneic or autologous stem cell therapy to treat tissue-degenerating diseases like neuro and ortho disorders. While allogeneic stem cell therapy deals with extracting stem cells from tissues of other people to treat a patient, autologous stem cell therapy deals with extracting stem cells from the patient and therefore is safer without any side effects. Global research is ongoing to use stem cell therapy for the treatment of autoimmune diseases and cancer.

What are the challenges you faced during the initial days? And how did you push through?

Lack of investment was the biggest challenge. This restrained the capacity to invest in research and new technologies initially. With its huge population base, India is a perfect place for strong medical research, but two main limitations always come up in the form of investment and awareness. The other major challenge was getting the acceptance of doctors for a new branch of medicine like regenerative medicine. This is an experimental therapy, and trials are underway for stem cell therapy in several chronic diseases. Still, regenerative medicine like PRP is popularly used as a therapeutic candidate for anti-aging and orthopedic disorders. 

We kept pushing our limits and developing our technology to produce long-term beneficial data inpatient treatments. At present, we have over 50 collaborations with various hospitals, clinics, and institutes. Our main strength was a long list of patient testimonials reporting positive improvements in their health conditions with the use of stem cells and regenerative medicine derivatives. We still have a long way to go till stem cell therapy is widely accepted as an established alternative treatment regime for diseases. 

What are the guidelines you follow during the process because we have a limited provider who offers the services in India? Any certification or guidelines you follow?

We mostly offer stem cells for therapy to other medical organizations for research and therapeutic purposes. Our cells are cultured in an aseptic GMP/GLP compliant lab environment, emphasizing good ethical criteria. We ensure our product is quality checked with proper third-party certificates.

Could you tell us something about Cosmetic treatments, Orthopedic treatments, anti-aging Therapies therapies, and Immuno Boosting treatments? We are sure many of our readers don’t have complete knowledge about these, so it will be easy for them to understand your offerings.

As we age or due to injury, body tissues are weakened or damaged. For these cases, conventional medications only prove effective in limiting the disease progression or reducing the harmful symptoms. In the case of orthopedic treatments, for arthritis or sports injury, etc., stem cell therapy and regenerative medicine like PRP helps in reducing pain symptoms besides regenerating and repairing the damaged bone or muscle tissue. For cosmetic therapy or anti-aging, stem cell therapy helps rejuvenate body tissues and helps in skin tightening, wrinkle removal, and dermal repair.  

What is your vision and mission behind this company? And where you want to reach? Any future plans?

Advancells is progressing sustainably towards becoming a renowned global regenerative medicine organization with a social responsibility to reduce healthcare costs by establishing regenerative therapy as the elixir for several diseases. With a significantly good amount of revenue, Advancells is a profitable company, and we are extensively focusing on more tie-ups with multinational pharmaceutical companies and international hospitals.

What have you failed at? And how you recover from that phase? Because being an entrepreneur is not easy, it’s like walking on the stone each day. What boosts your mind when you face failure?

The biggest example of recovery from a low point would be Advancells bouncing back onto the market with ICMR approved VTM kits and DRDO-approved PPE kits to support COVID-19 front-line health workers after the pandemic hit. Advancells is essentially and primarily a harbinger of regenerative medicine therapy to the common mass. Still, with the 2020-21 COVID pandemic, the business saw a low point as there was a lack of medical tourism shrouded with the COVID healthcare emergency.

It is true that the entrepreneurial journey is not easy, but the challenges make it worth walking. It is very important to constantly have a Plan B so that one can jump right back on the wagon in case of any failure. Knowing the trend and adapting to it is the biggest ‘pro’ factor for a good entrepreneur. 

In which cities you’re currently serving? Any further expansion plans?

We are currently in Delhi, NCR. As for expansion plans, we are looking forward to international establishments in the Middle East.

Any secret formula to young entrepreneurs?

There is no secret to success. ‘Hard work and ‘Believing in oneself’ are the two most important things that an entrepreneur should never give up. But yes, there is one thing I always tell the younger generation: If you have a plan and you believe in it, go ahead and try! Trying is the only road towards becoming a successful entrepreneur.
