Airtable is a cloud-based project management system that as the company likes to say, “delivers the power of a database with the simplicity of a spreadsheet.” The company’s customers range widely from Atlantic Records to Netflix to WeWork. In 2018, the company added a new product called Blocks, which are applications that operate on top of an Airtable and bring them to life with new functionality without knowing how to code a database application. Blocks such as “Map,” “Chart,” and “Timeline” offer fresh visualization options. Others such as “Send SMS” turns an Airtable entry into an action item. As of the fall of 2018, the company offered 29 Blocks for its more than 50,000 customers.
Airtable gives end-users the ability to create and share their own workflows for everything from managing an editorial calendar to planning a major event. Airtable comes with a helpful selection of templates, which may give you more ideas about how you can use it. For example, there are templates called Social Media Calendar, Wedding Planning, Nonprofit Grant Tracker, Employee Onboarding, Bug Tracker, Product Launch, and many others.
