| 4 minutes read
Everyone loves to flaunt their beauty, and they use their secrets to look young for years. This thought has given a boost to Health tech startups that are successfully solving the problem of Anti-aging.
Nature has crafted us beautifully, and we want to look appealing and don’t want to enter the wrinkle’s circle. So, since the beginning of time, we humans have used our own sought ways to preserve the youthful look forever.
Some people go for cosmetic surgery. Others follow their secrets (home remedies) and follow strict diet plans and exercise plans. But, overall, everyone tries their best to look young and fresh. The companies noticed the effort, and they understood that people could do anything to look young.
From biohacking (meditation and intermittent fasting) to microbiomes to telemedicine and uplifting mood circles. The field of anti-aging is gearing up with new and promising ways to prolong youth. Here are a few areas in the field you should have on your radar.
Stress, tension, and bad eating habits are considered huge factors in aging. However, few apps claim they will give you relaxation and help you deal with anxiety. Apart from this, Cryotherapy and infrared beds are two such tools that have gained recent popularity.
Both cryo therapies are known as cold therapy, which helps to remove abnormal tissue. On the other side, infrared technologies can help to improve blood circulation, reduce inflammation and provide a mild soothing effect. All of these benefits also offer relaxation and more restful sleep. If you care about these small and minor things, you can add more years to your life.
Understanding your genome is a valuable biohacking tool. For example, genome tests can provide information about the best foods to eat and other valuable data for extending life.
As per the latest report, burnout is now an official medical condition. The American Institute of Stress recommends that people take a proactive approach to lower stress levels; the only problem is it’s hard to remember to do this on your own. Therefore, a smartwatch can play a vital role in reminding; in Apple Watch, an app called’ Breadth’ reminds users to inhale and exhale deeply for one minute at regular intervals.
The Connection Between Microbiome Technology and Permanence
Gut microbiota has been a slogan for a few years now, but since it has been linked to so many wellness claims, it is only growing in popularity. Health tech startups are landing on this plane as quickly as possible to utilize the trend.
Every person’s gut has a microbiome of billions of bacteria. An imbalance of these bacteria can cause various health problems and cause mental health issues like anxiety and depression.
The more people look to gut health to preserve their youth and prolong their lives; the more room wellness tech has to utilize.
How Are Wellness Tech Startups Extending Life Right Now?
So many technologies offer early, accurate diagnostics that enable people to extend their lives and live more comfortably at the moment. These technologies are getting better each day, and with improved technology, we can say the life cycle of every human will increase. Peter Diamandis, the founder of XPrize Foundation, said that we are well on our way to living up to 120 years.
Billionaires Who Invested in Anti-aging Research
According to MIT Technology Review, Bezos has invested in Altos Labs, a mysterious new start-up pursuing biological reprogramming to rejuvenate cells in the lab. The startup reportedly intends to apply the technology to entire animal bodies, ultimately halting natural aging and increasing the average human lifespan.
The co-founder of Google and CEO of Alphabet also founded Calico in 2013. Calico, which is short for California Life Company, focuses on anti-aging research. In 2014, the company announced it had an investment of $750 million from Google.
Since its launch, Calico has also entered into various partnerships with multiple organizations to help it cure aging.
In June, during a Facebook Q&A, Stephen Hawking asked Mark Zuckerberg what big questions in science would he like to know the answer to and why?
“I’m most interested in questions about people. What will enable us to live forever? How do we cure all diseases? How does the brain work? How does learning work, and how can we empower humans to learn a million times more?” Zuckerberg replied.
Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, Brin, and his ex-wife Anne Wojcicki are also founders of the Breakthrough Prize, which awards $3 million to scientists who discover new ways to extend human life.
