Could you please tell us about Kidoz, and what it is all about?

The KIDOZ brand is owned by Global Craft which was started as a small workshop by me. At KIDOZ, we design & manufacture Products for Children starting from New Borns to 15-year-olds. Some of the Products we deal in are:

Decorative & Functional Kids Room Accessories like Name Plaques, Clocks, Wall Shelves, Bookends, Clocks, Study Tables etc. Birthday Return Presents & Invites – based on the customers’ Theme, Age, Gender & Budget School Accessories like Graduation Plaques Craft Kits – DIY & Educative.

At Kidoz, we create child-friendly, customized products to make your li’l one’s small space, a DREAMLAND. The products are constantly evolving in terms of child safety, design and functionality. All our products are handmade in India with love.

How do you come up with the idea of selling wooden learning activity kits and kid’s accessories?

We started first with personalized wooden accessories. We already had a woodworking workshop, and a few creations at our workshop of customised presents for friends led us to create our own brand. Personalisation was unique and really appreciated. We then sold online on Facebook and christened the brand  “KIDOZ”. This helped us sell pan India. The 1st product, a beautiful and functional sit and study table with storage & corkboard sold 125 pcs on our first Facebook promotion. It was loved.

When I had my own kids, we developed some learning wooden activity kits for them which got us our own set of DIY Craft activity kits which are fun learning kits for children from 3yrs and above.

What are your challenges during the initial days you faced? And how did you push through?

Getting the right quality which is cost-effective and unique. When we started with online sales since the product is made of wood, it needed good packaging yet packaged to save freight cost. Also marketing an Indian brand was a challenge since the market is full of cheap quality Chinese products.
